This issue of Saints Alive explores the topic of "journeys." When we first started talking about journeys at our Saints Alive planning meeting, we talked mostly about the physical places folks had traveled and the good work that had been done by saints around the world. We talked about our youth traveling to Rio, Greece, Iona and Spain. We talked about our parishioners doing good work in places like Guyana, Honduras, and Brazil. We were amazed at the wealth of world experience in our parish.
But then we began to talk about some of the journeys that we take without leaving Atlanta. Our youth undertake spiritual journeys when they begin the Journey to Adulthood program. Our friends at Covenant Community walk the long road to recovery. Each of us is on a journey everyday, spiritual, social, medical... We travel roads familiar and roads untrodden in search of wholeness and well-being.
I invite you to read these stories and article of journeying to better know what is going on in the lives and hearts of the people around you in church but also to help you form your own path and appreciate your own journey.
Blessings,
